Role Purpose:

The Foreman is Valleywood’s point person ensuring that all work executed by the team is delivered the “Valleywood Way”. The “Valleywood Way” means that, leading with Valleywood purpose and values, the team is growing, clients are delighted by the on-site work, and the work is delivered on time and budget.

Role Summary:

The foreman is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Valleywood’s on-site team by:

1. Being an ambassador:

Leading the team in such a way that they “want” to work for the supervisor.

  • Growing in their personal leadership.
  • Modeling an engaged team culture.
  • Modeling alignment with the purpose and values of Valleywood.

Helping ensure client delight and cultivating a sense of partnership with suppliers and others connecting with the on-site team.
Ensuring vehicles, equipment, and the site, as influenced by a Valleywood site leader, are representative of Valleywood values.

2. Delivering on the practical things that matter most for every job:

Safety:

  • Ensures all team members go home “intact”
  • Zero lost time
  • Ensures compliance

Quality:

  • Target is 100% quality, 1st pass every time
  • Resolves quality issues

Efficiency:

  • Organizing and assignment of the team’s work and priorities.
  • Continuous improvement of people and process.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are developed, followed and improved

3. Engaging, effective and frequent communication:

With their manager and with the onsite team.
Lead on-site team meetings that deliver passion, clarity and focus on the work to be done.
Keeping the client updated and informed
Ensuring that information flow between the site, office team and client occurs as agreed upon.
Able to communicate as required using IT tools and processes.

4. On-site Management:

Co-ordinating work flow
Material ordering and co-ordinating
Working with team “hands-on” production as needed
Equipment ordering and maintenance on site

Additional Requirements:

You hold a valid ‘G’ license
You are able to work in a heavy labour environment
